Biography

Carlton Jones – Board Member

Carlton’s career within the construction and steel industry spans more than 50 years. With a background in engineering, he has previously worked for British Steel, Corus and Tata, and is currently director of the Metal Cladding and Roofing Manufacturers Association (MCRMA) and the Metal Gutter Manufacturers Association (MGMA).

Following early retirement from the steel industry in 2011, Carlton was asked to oversee the day-to-day running of both the MCRMA and MGMA, and now runs his own construction consultancy offering support to manufacturers within the roofing and cladding sector.

As a board member, Carlton offers a strong technical and commercial focus based on product and market development, plus product testing and standards implementation linked to the steel industry. It also brings the IOR closer to the wider industry, working more collaboratively with Carlton’s connections with other associations for the good and positive growth of the roofing sector.
