Biography

Kate Whatley – Hon. Treasurer

Kate is an experienced Commercial Director with a demonstrated history of working in the Construction industry and a strong business development professional with a BA focused in Business Management from The University of Sheffield.

Kate currently holds the position of Commercial Director at SPV Group- a position held for over 15 consecutive years.

With a proven track record of delivering large scale roofing contracts within all areas of the industry including flat roofing, cladding, rainscreen, mastic asphalt, heritage roofing as well as a proven track record of commercial management having overseen and built up a number of commercial businesses

Kate is passionate about raising the profile of the roofing industry and encouraging diversity within the sector and is determined to make a real difference in inspiring, fostering and developing future generations to enter the construction industry as well as driving innovation across the sector.

Kate is a Construction Role Model 2019 and 2020 and Roofing Ambassador.

Kate was instrumental in setting up The Building Futures Pathway course in conjunction with Juniper Training which has 2 intakes each year in the Midlands offering a pathway course for 16 to 18 year olds interested in a career in construction.

Kate is also a Director of Women in Roofing- a non for profit organisation set up to actively promote skills and diversity in the construction industry create value and make a difference.
