The Institute of Roofing (IoR) is to announce new “hard hitting” changes in its first AGM since the appointment of CEO, Kay Rose (FIoR).
Taking place on 6 April 2022, held at the National Gallery in London by kind permission of its trustees and directors, the IoR is encouraging all members to attend the free event, as it will showcase new and diverse plans for the future.
In a packed schedule, Kay Rose (FIoR) herself will be presenting her “…very honest thoughts,” in an overview of where the IoR is at present, the challenges ahead and her vision for the future.
Attendees will also hear from the IoR’s new chair, Sarah Spink, about the Institute’s achievements and the IoR’s future collaborations within the industry.
CEO of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), Caroline Gumble, will also be in attendance as a guest speaker. With her years of experience, Caroline will talk of the CIOB’s journey to reaching its 47,000 members worldwide, whilst providing insight into the IoR’s own goal of achieving Chartered status.
In addition, the IoR will be thanking a long-standing supporter of the IoR and the roofing industry, by awarding an Honorary Fellowship, and the event will also crown the IoR’s latest ‘Student of the Year’.
Speaking about the upcoming event, Kay Rose (FIoR), CEO of the Institute, said: “My presentation on where the IoR is today, and the positive changes that need to be made might be a bit hard hitting at the AGM, but some things need to be addressed. Much like a beautiful piece of art – some of which we will be surrounded by on the day – a masterpiece does not happen overnight and we need to be realistic with the timeline of our future plans.
“What an honour, too, that CEO of the CIOB, Caroline Gumble, is coming to speak at this event. Her insight, knowledge and experience will be of great interest and provide food for thought as we navigate through some new territory as an Institute.
“I am looking forward to showcasing a new, fresh and dynamic IoR, backed by a strong Board, to help deliver our key goals and ambitious plans.”
The IoR’s AGM will take place on Wednesday 6 April 2022 at the National Gallery in London, by kind permission of its trustees and directors. The AGM is free to attend for fully subscribed members, but the buffet lunch will be charged at £25+VAT. Attendees can visit the entire gallery after the event, free of charge.
